A ski resort for every level
Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 spreads its slopes between 1,650 and 2,250 metres in altitude, across four areas (La Calme, Les Airelles, Les Aveillans and Pyrénées 2000). With about forty runs covering roughly 60 km, the resort suits beginners and experienced skiers alike, in a wooded, unspoilt setting in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Nature Park.
An internationally renowned Nordic area
Beyond downhill skiing, Font-Romeu is also known for its cross-country area, one of the most renowned in France with more than 100 km of trails cut through the forest. The resort also benefits from reliable snow cover all season thanks to artificial snow across most of the area.
The Odeillo solar furnace, close by
Just below the resort, the village of Odeillo is home to the CNRS solar furnace, one of the largest in the world, built in 1968 to harness the remarkable sunshine of the Cerdagne — a scientific site you can visit and well worth the detour alongside a ski stay.
